Whilst I was trying to decide which player to base my next illustration on, I realised i’d left out an obvious candidate, Gary “Parky Man” Parkinson.

Parky was recently diagnosed with locked-in syndrome, a debilitating illness that means he can communicate only by blinking.

Every Boro fan is now praying that his battling qualities and the Spirit of 86 will see him make a full recovery.
