I’ve been wanting to do a Bruce Rioch piece for a while now but wasn’t really sure how best to depict the man.  I’ve had various ideas rattling around in my head for while, like including the Boro Bugler, the famous Bruce Requests hoarding, or maybe the Holgate itself.

In the end though things began to look a little crowded, so i opted for a phrase that appeared as part of a FMTTM cover “He gave us back our pride”. I’m pretty happy with the final image of Sir Bruce and i hope it’s how most fans remember him, (yes even the short shorts). That said, im up for trying a few different versions till I get it 100% spot on, so if you have any suggestions then please do pass them on.
