The following description is taken directly from the IBWM site. I hope it gives some background to “The 100″ and explains the reason for this illustrations inclusion.

Each year (up until this, ironically) the Spanish football publication Don Balon fastidiously collated their own record of the 100 best young (aged 23 and under) players on the planet. IBWM has taken the final Don Balon list, which was published in November 2010, and spent the last few months reviewing how the last year has panned out for each of the players included on it.  The 100 is the outcome of our review.

With the projects launch date fast approaching I was commissioned by IBWM to create a series of cover pages to compliment the names that had made it on to the list. There would be 20 names per week, over a 5 week period, eventually making up the final 100. There were no restrictions to the brief, so what you see here is simply what i came up with based on the list of names i was given, hope you like them.
