Having spent the last few weeks away from all things Boro, I thought it was about time to redress the balance and give the site it’s Boro identity back again. So with that in mind, the next subject i chose was Craig Hignett, who, along with Nicky Barmby formed what was affectionately known on Teesside as The Midget Gems.
The idea for this one came to me when i noticed the similarity between a particular Maynards Midget Gem and screw-in footy studs, so thought I’d mix the two items together.
As a footnote to this piece, Craig also recently gave up his time to be interviewed for the site, so feel free to check out the interview section and see what he had to say.
After a very hasty discussion via Twitter, it’s been suggested that the original number of studs i used might be confusing. Especially as were more than required even before using a Midget Gem as a substitute. So heres how the same piece would look if there were only 7 standard studs. Hopefully it makes the green midget gem more prominent, so the suggestion it could be used as a spare stud becomes more apparent? It’d be good to get some other feedback on how others interpret this one.
